Someone tell me that's true. Master Musician/Master Smuggler....AND FS? Iago will be nearly perfect. I just need 3 more points for Master Entertainer. I miss my Mando.

My time on TC didn't extend to any PvP or PvE comparisons toward other professions, but I'm hoping that the above statement is the paramount result of this entire UpRebalaVamp.Rebecca wrote:
Personally, I dont see how this effects anything but a realistic side of the game. IE: if someone has all there points put into combat, and go against say... a dancer/fencer. The full combat character should win. This is just common sense.

Well.. lets say I am a Master Fencer and Master Dancer.Rebecca wrote:

However the fact that this player (person) has more combat training means he would have an edge in that they just have more combat training, so while it maybe a Melee fight the fact that he's a more dedicated and highly trained combatant it's only logical that the training would still play a role in the skirmish giving him/her the edge in the fight.Ekade wrote:Well.. lets say I am a Master Fencer and Master Dancer.Rebecca wrote:

I am fighting a Master Fencer and a Master Rifleman in melee. We fight the whole time using fencer weapons.
By the rules of the CU, I lose and lose badly. I fail to see the "realism" in that. I could have better weapons, and even be a more skilled player.
The penalty for having a diverse character has always been there.. now it is even worse.

It's like a Navy Diver taking on a Navy Seal, they have some of the same skills but the more dedicated solider will prevail due to his other training.

That was the problem with the old system.
Classes like Fencer, or Teras Kasi, surpassed everything and everyone.
You'll still be able to fight, they said all fights would last about 3 minutes. PvE in groups will still be a valid option. But having to RP the fact that your character cant hold up against the tough bounty hunters, or the elite imperial soldiers, probably isn't a bad thing at all.
I'm sure you won't just fall one your face, if that's what your worried about. But completely combat dedicated characters will be stronger.
Well it was my understanding that PvP wasn't suppose to use the CL level to influence the CL 80 vs CL 50 type combat but maybe they changed that.Ekade wrote:*sigh*Rebecca wrote:I hate to say ti Ekade, nothing against you...

I know.. I just want to be able to have fun too. I am not picking up a 2nd account and I would rather not have to play a full combat character on another server just to enjoy the combat system. (( Although I do have an imperial officer rotting away on Bria. ))
I am also worried that people will not want to group with me either because you only get 8 spots.. and I'm a gimp character.
*sigh* Weyune is gonna be right there with EkadeEkade wrote:Hashum wrote: However the fact that this player (person) has more combat training means he would have an edge in that they just have more combat training, so while it maybe a Melee fight the fact that he's a more dedicated and highly trained combatant it's only logical that the training would still play a role in the skirmish giving him/her the edge in the fight.

An "edge" is one thing. Just outright winning without even having to try is something else.
All I am asking for a chance, a sliver of hope (and thus a sliver of fun) in friendly or RP duels with you guys.
Pre-CU Ekade was fast and athletic.. and had at least a chance at besting most of you in a duel. Post-CU Ekade, from what I am hearing, will be a pushover. That concerns me.
Okay, I may be a girl, but I don't look at a weapon and go "what's that?". It's hard not to pick up on a few things when you have brothers.Hashum wrote:Well it was my understanding that PvP wasn't suppose to use the CL level to influence the CL 80 vs CL 50 type combat but maybe they changed that.Ekade wrote:*sigh*Rebecca wrote:I hate to say ti Ekade, nothing against you...

All it means is that you don't pick on people you know would kick your butt, there are plenty of toons that will only have 1 elite combat profession so you can still have fun.
And as to my earlier post I was just trying to be nice. A Navy seal would easily dismiss a Navy Diver, like wise anyone that has twice as much combat training would easily dismiss a toon with half their training.
A blackbelt in Karate and Tae Kon Do (Sp?) should easily be able to defeat a black belt in Karate. Reguardless of weapon specifics. It's just more realistic then it was before.
So you can have fun, depending on how you classify that, if you want to have "fun" slaughtering Rancor's well I'm sorry but you're going to get gimped hard. But if by fun you want to take part in Dariis's Fight Nights then it shouldn't be a problem, especially if you rank the toons there by CL for fun fair fights.
