As Fair and Balanced as Possible

Keer wrote: No doubt. But in all fairness, and as can be seen the "Umms", "Hellos" and capital keystrokes didn't start with me. The first jab came at me, not from me. Even in initial disagreements, I think that I followed the tone expressed in the Subject Line (As Fair and Balanced As Possible) The response to that then got on the "Obvious Horse".

Feeling that "If you don't start none, there won't be none" didn't work out so that's why I just let it go in my last post.
Please do not go the "He started it" route. I'm not trying to be mean here but I never said anything about who was at fault, who started things nor did I name any names whatsoever (Only when I mentioned that I agreed with Skor but appreciated Keer's point of view). This post makes it seem like I'm being unfair when I'll I was asking was that you didn't mock each other's opinions in each reply.

I am not calling you out but I want to be clear that I am not trying to stifle opinions or reprimand any one person for doing wrong here. I am just asking that everyone take a step back before it gets out of hand.

I am not going to reply on this again. If there in any other issues with my comments please PM me directly.

Please Keer, take it down a few notches...I am not attacking you in anyway

when I said "open your eyes" it means to open your eyes to the bigger picture...what palp was trying to accomplish...if you look at the bigger picture, the smaller events come into place...

I am just debating a topic...no more, no less

going on a bit of what Novall stated about Mace Windu. I am reading a book "shatterpoint" that describes Windu's abilities to use the force and see the "shatterpoint"(the most vulnerable point) within enemies and in situations...example:

Mace v Dooku on geonosia, Mace saw that he could kill Dooku right there and end the conflict (but fett would kill mace right after), and thus hesitated...and constantly reminds himself of this mistake.

later in the book Yoda, Windu, and Palpatine are talking about the "7" lightsaber fighting styles, palpatine only knew of 6. thats when windu says there is a 7th, the most dangerous and there is only 1 master...me! now this is all set up in a book not the movie...so its not 100% correct possibly

Windu besting sidious in the sabre duel seems to be accurate, but why Windu hesitates bothers me, i mean windu said earlier in the movie. "I sense a plot to destory the jedi" now when you find the guy thats gonna do it, a friggin sith lord, the sith lord of lords atm, why not end it right there!!!... granted we know he didnt, but from that scene Mace looked like he failed

one last thing, Mace did say to Anakin, "if what you say is true, then you have gained my trust" and what he said was true, Palpatine was a sith so Mace trusted Anakin... what irony eh?

Well, I just got done seeing Episode III and I have to say that I was impressed. The flanneled one had alot of loose ends to tie up in this final(*wink wink) installment. At least until the special, special edition comes out with more Jar Jar..eek.

I will say that I found most of the dialogue to be weak. The story was excellent in my opinon but as we have seen with the two prior films, most of the dialogue seems to be contrived. I would say the shining performance would go to Ian McDiarmid for all his conniving and twisting of Anakin into twisted black visage of Darth Vader. The most exciting action scene would have to be the Dooku/Anakin showdown. Although I did enjoy the end duel, most of the action seemed like overkill.

As for the scenes between Padme and Anakin, there was some improvement. It truly did feel tragic when Padme told Anakin that she didn't know him anymore and the following assault by Anakin. However as a viewer, I did not truly believe in their love. The scene with Darth Vader rising from the table did not seem as dark as it should have been and conjured up memories of Frankenstein, complete with a freakish yell(which in my opinion was very un-Vader like--sheesh sissy) Also, why did the blue skinned Twilek have to die(Aalya Secura-hotness)

Overall, I really enjoyed this movie though I would say it is not on par with Empire, but I guess time will tell. I'm seeing it again on Sunday!

Ok here's my take on the Windu Vs. Palp Fight.

If you notice when they start fighting Palp quickly kills the other 2 or 3 Jedi, and in the fight it appears Windu is in the back of the crowd, and doesn't seem to engage Palp until he's killing the Last Jedi. This leads me to believe that the other three were sort of in his way.

Now I believe Windu had Palp beat, I don't think Palp was faking it, for Vader's sake, he knew Anakin would do anything to save Padame he knew he would fall to the Dark Side.

So when Anakin does arrive I do think he purposefully starts putting on a better show for Anakins sake for that last little push. And as to his Unlimited Power, I think this was sort of like Palpatine feeding off Anakin falling to the Dark Side. As an example in one of the EU books a character Kuellar I believe starts feeding off Luke's anger and hate as Luke is trying to duel him in a lightsaber fight. Luke then decides to pull an Obi-Wan but Leia kills Kuellar, but it specifically says Kuellar was becoming stronger because Luke was boardering on the edge during the fight.

Now I do wish Anakin and Windu had fought a bit before his untimely demise but all and all it was pretty good.
