Best part of that movie. Really puts into perspective how good a spin Star Wars put on everything
Nobody ever thinks of the civilians unless it's good news for their cause. ;)

Well, I'm also in agreement kinda. I'm sure there are some rebels just as corrupt. Just never shown in the movies.

If you want a quirky point of view on this one consider Darth Vader; Only think of him as Anakin Skywalker 'evily' serving the Alliance. He always knew what was the right thing to do; it took a final epiphany for him to act on his instincts though; As Anakin Skywalker 'turned' to Darth Vader... you could say he evily served in the Alliance in the end. I do think this is the 'only' character from the movies that we could put this twist on though and call it evil serving the good.

Not nessisarily. He didn't kill the Emporer for the Alliance. He did it for his son. It's like saying a bank robber is on the side of the law when he kills his partner in the robbery to saving his son from getting killed by the partner.

Good idea, Alonzo. I like your screening plan.
Also, cheers to Role Play that recognizes the Imperial Cruisers in low orbit over some of the planets.
If Alderaan can disappear, then a city can be razed until the rubble bounces.

The Jedi served the ideals of The Old Republic (he was twisted into standing for something it did not); while the Alliance was organized to bring back these ideals of government to the galaxy. Through his sacrifice, even if it was personal, it did ultimately serve the Alliance and the Republic Anakin once was a part of. So, what I said was true, from a certain point of view.
Either side of this conflict and organizers of events and/or RP in bad or good taste though; I can really only think of one thing to say about it in any context; "Evil is as Evil does!"
to rebecca's idea

Ah, you jedi with your bloody points of view! Speak the Emperor's good Galactic Basic!
Actually, you bring up a good and interesting view. Good show.

Bare with me... This is a rambling rant... Not in essay form.
My first action after the attempted arresting of Warrbacca at the Roba, was to go overt. I felt this would be a good way of portraying the immenent danger Rebecca was in with the Empire. I might continue to go along this path from now on, as Rebecca is a known rebel "terrorist"
I also enjoy the fact that I have to stay out of the main cities to avoid a horrible jedi ganking. Lets hope this issue gets fixed...
But the main thing I'd like to stress about the problem with roleplayed Imps is... None of them are Overt, yet they demand respect from us "regular" people. You're barking orders, checking my ID, backhanding me at will... But I cant attack you.
If you want to walk around in ST armor and boss people around... Fine. Do it with some authority... Have an AT-ST backing you up, and be Overt. The same should go for any HIGH ranking officer in uniform. It just makes sense to be what your character is... I'm not saying be OVERT at all times... I'm saying in these RP events, it might be good to play the role.
Rebecca wont go up to random Imperials and smack them in the face, ask Nyvveck or Adunaphel. But she will speak her mind... and she will bring backup to keep herself protected if a situation makes for it. Sorry Seret, just had to point out I don't do any smacking.
So the Empire isn't feared enough?
The main problem with a roleplay environment of any sort... ESPECIALLY when it comes to Star Wars Cannon... Is that the game doesn't allow for our movie view of the Star Wars Theme. There are things in the game, that just didn't occur in the movie...
A quote from a friend of mine. "Wait wait wait... This game is based on a series of movies?"
The Reality of Gorath is... The Rebels are winning the War. They own all the planets, they have more jedi, they have weekly bunker busting missions designated by an organized High Command.
Darth Vader is a Failure. I love this one.
Because he left alot of jedi standing in this alternate universe, the movies are officially blown out of the Water. Either that... Or a few escaped, and decided it would be a good idea to train up a whole bunch of jedi in 18 years. Which doesn't sound too far fetched. Still, not cannon.
We as roleplayers must make a decision. Are we going to follow the storyline in the movies? Or make up our own, based on the observations our characters make on the world that we are interacting with?
Remember Static and Dynamic Character from Grade 8 English?
I personally prefer Dynamic RP. The Galaxy is not the Galaxy from the Movies... Though there are similiarities... There are also vast differences.
Like I said... Just a rambling rant of opinions.

This is a good idea Alonzo. It ensures that people who are attending the Roba are Roleplayers by making them rp with the door man just to get in. Also making the establishment private ensures that if any non-roleplayers make it past the door man that there is a way to boot them if they prove themselves troblesome. All in all a good way to keep realative control over the night.

ooh! Some excellent points to discuss here..
Is that the game doesn't allow for our movie view of the Star Wars Theme.
I disagree, the game DOES allow for us to play Star Wars from the movie view. The game DOES NOT prevent players from playing outside of the scope of the movie view.
Meaning, we can play in a very realistic SW setting in this game.. But unfortunately we are lumped in with hundreds who choose not to, and the game does not keep them in line whatsoever.
The tools this game gives us are incredible.. but people want to do their own thing. Being uber is more important than playing Star Wars.
We as roleplayers must make a decision. Are we going to follow the storyline in the movies? Or make up our own, based on the observations our characters make on the world that we are interacting with?
I've always operated under the premise that I am in a world that follows the movies. The Empire has all the power, the Rebellion is sneaking around, etc.
The problem I see with making up our own storyline for the universe completely is that.. who decides that? Can you get anyone to agree on such a thing? Do we assume that the current state of power in the galaxy is dictated by the PvP'ers on our server? (ie. who is winning the GCW?)
We are all SW fans so I feel the consensus has to be to stick with the story that Lucas told us in the original movies. If we deviate from that, we're basically in a meaningless universe with lacking game mechanics.
