I think it sounds like a good change, will SOE totally screw it up? Probably, but hey...what else is new. I hope they pull it off, it opens up some interesting game play. What worries me is the crafters and such, what keeps me in this game is the sense of being in a community, but it does seem lately they have been taking away the importance of crafters and such. So we will see.

I am a Star Wars geek...so whatever they put out I will probably be playing :/

Feels another disturbance in the force...like all 9 devs suddenly quit and the game improved with new and better ones.

So they are completely dumping the old servers? It says that they are grandfathering in old characters but I'd like to know what exactly that means.

Yeah...that part I'm kinda sketchy on. I'm wondering if I'm gonna have to re-decorate the Noct City hall (which I wouldn't mind at all). If they do dump the old servers, I envision a new Nocturnus, that looks cooler and with a defined Entertainment district...muah..ha...ha!

It will still be still be some aspect of MMO grinding and such. I think they mean that you'll be "full template" in the new system, whateve rthat means

I am just tired of them changing the entire freakin game.

I am finally starting to deal with the bugs with loot drops etc and coming to terms with whats broken as it exists now... Who knows if anything I do now will matter in 6 months when all my items go through another conversion and I end up with crate of converted foods, junk, etc that are meaningless to my profession.

I am sure they mean there will be no classic or CU style servers, I read somewhere every art piece will have to be gone thru, I am sure it will be a smooth transition like all major upgrades.... err ya smooooth.

Thats assuming they allow user cities and housing in there upgrade. Its too soon to tell what they are going to do. I have no doubt they will do this whether the community wants it after test or not. They haven't seem too concerned about what the community wants up to this point anyway. Why should they start caring now?

They aren't taking them out per se. there just isn't a dedicated melee class. you can still decide to use melee weapons. But I figure that is like trying to kill someone with a knife in BF2.

They said that you will still be able to use melee weapons, but as one of the set Classes, did you also notice what one of the classes is?? Force Sensitive....does that mean you can start out on the path to Jedi? Hmmm. Of course I still wont be a jedi, but damn...everyone else will be lol/

Well, i'd rather have liked an all melee class, even if i would have to put myself up against FPS-players shooting at me... but hey, there won't be any players shooting at me, they will all go Force Sensitive... o_O

Well...actually...I won't. But I'll be quite upset. I'll take my melee elegance over being good in PvP any day of the week. If they make melee like trying to kill someone with a knife in BF2...I will still use it.
