Most of them bio-link, however I would assume that before they bio-link you can trade them. However, I don't know why'd you want to...

Because some of them have stat mod's on them and I don't really want to start back at CL 1 just so I can get them for my main character.
This would indicate I could buy them or use my alt to get them and trade them. Since apparently they figure since you're already CL 80 you don't want any of that crap.

Well what I assumed when they said that we won't want them is that we will easily enough find better items that are more our level. But from what I saw, all the quest rewards were something like "Strenght, 1". Not very worthwhile stuff.
Oh, and breaking news from the front! I've just heard reports that on TC-Corbantis, Jedi is the weakest class because none of them know how to fight melee! Not to seem arrogant...but I look forward to teaching them how it's done.

Some of the quest rewards I did (I think around level 5 or 6) were clothing items that gave +3 to strength or +3 to precision.

Jedi are gonna have to adjust, me, I'll be right at home. (So yes, at this time, it does look like I'm joining the Jedi crowd as they are the only "pure" melee class).
I was thinking much the same. I wanted a pure melee class, and Jedi is the only real option.

More than 50% Jedi? Like none of us could have predicted that. Why doesn't SOE just call the game what it will be. Jedi Wars. SW will be dead in the post NGE SWG.

Your wish is my command mon! TTF-S gonna have a nice orbital strike out of pure boredom, right outside their city as a demonstration of ma powa!!! PHEAR ME! =P

Play a Jedi and don't use a saber. Looks like it can be done.

Its not a poll. Its a derivative of how many posts are in each NGE profession forum at SOE.
Jabe
Ah, misread the beginning post.
My experiences on TC have been similar to Krussh's. Lookin' at 80% Jedi...at least until they get bored with it and concentrate on their alts.

You can't really tell until the game goes live. I created a Jedi simply to try it out because I don't plan on respecing to one.

in the old system I've beaten plenty of ranged as melee without root, though that was a question of getting a successful KD in or you'd get kited forever but it wasn't impossible and the lunge had great range.
as for Jedi.. *sighs* I've been padawan since beginning of patch 9, I roleplayed my character over a year of "progress in the force and related arts" and there was no powergrinding for the most part, although when the character became so known and I felt I had a solid character basis for pushing the last steps IC, not to mentioned finally getting tired of getting pwned

I did end up spinning lairs for max xp per time spent, so I could go back and relax and roleplay. The difference I think with most jedi players is they did it for the pwn factor. For pvp, to have the best, to fight the best. They likely didn't do it as much for the love of the philosophies and mysteries connected with it through the books and movies. I think we'll see a whole lot of people dropping jedi like a hot potato after trying it out in the live game, because most of the useful and fun skills are gone. Critics call it balance, I won't get into that topic here but, to me the skill trees look utterly boring and uninteresting, if I didnt love the style I wouldnt consider it again.
Despite having played with my jedi for this long, I still have a small urge to simply chose something else. I don't enjoy being part of a jedi zerg.
Personally I find Smuggler very attractive in style and feel, the whole underground thing. Spy looks interesting too, as does Officer, even though Im weary of "support classes" right now.
My alt will remain an entertainer, always but I'll definetely use my respec chances to try out all professions with my character. I may just fall for a different style.. of course, then I'll have to write a loooot of IC explaining for no longer carrying lightsaber and fetching the morning newspaper with the force *angelic*

I wonder how many entertainers are like me...figured the TC would be mostly for those who grew up in games as mechanics and those who are mostly interested in twitch fighting.
Thot it would be pointless for me to go. Already knew that there would be nothing new for a dancer there. Not going meant not posting anything. So your numbers, Jabe, were bound to be skewed.
The seeming that mostly jedi were being let thru the bottleneck, in lieu of other preferred professions, would also skew your percentages.
