When I questioned my mother about it, she said oh yes...it's like the traditional-traditional side dish. Dad yelled from the living room that he hated it. Mom then said she couldn't care less about it because it was "just okay." Thus the mystery is solved as to why it has never been made at my house in my memory and why I've never had it.

turkey day for me was last month (yay canada) and i fixed up a great bird. all the fixings. brussel sprouts (his fave) cranberry sauce fresh tomatos caramel carrots and mashed spuds.. it was a good dinner. the first we ever did but it turned out nicely. mom and brother dearest as well as closest friends and family where here. my only groan was i was up at 5am preparing the turkey lol
