Oh how nice it will be when I'm half senile to sit in my rocking chair and relay such stories to my grandchildren while they indulgently listen and think "WTF is he talking about?". Get his meds.

You don't have to wait for those days. Just try it out on us newer people and the brand new folks.
I mentioned the CU to someone the other day, only to get the question, "What is that?"

You know, everyday in beta was fun. It really gave you something to look forward to: The finished game. Everyone was so jacked up about release and finally getting to be part of a universe that some had waited since 1977 to be part of.
Even through all the bugs it was fresh and new. Its was still a place of fun and excitment even when we were frustraited.
As Ekade put it so nicely, they chased the dollar and the game lost its magic, and in the end we lost our universe.
There are so many days I want to come back and just try to make things work, but I know thats not gonna happen at this point.
I still hope that some day things turn out right and I can log back in and maybe recapture the magic that was taken away.

Very well said, Novall. I miss the old days, the magic of the game. I hope that one day I can come back and enjoy the game I remember.

I remember sitting in camps all the time trying to gain survival XP for Ranger. Then the first time I popped open my HTFB and getting the reaction from everyone else was awesome. Also tracking creatures for Avain meat for doc buffs. The massive 20 player groups attacking everything we could on Dantooine. I'll have it in for the Mountain Squills on Tat as they always layed a smackdown down on me when I was a newb.
I just can't believe SOE killed the game as badly as they did. Hopefully they won't pull the plug anytime soon although with as much as I have been playing lately it doesn't really matter.

I remember getting a 20 man group week one of SWG to go into the squill cave, and the first question always..."do you have a doc to rez?" Our reply "Yea, want an invite?" "Do you have a backup if the doc dies?" Us "Damn I didnt think of that,. you know any?". 45 mins to get a group to all get slaughtered halfway down was the best espically since it took another 25mins to run there and everyone was trying to stay together LMAO

We were all noobs, all discovering new things, PvP was awesome and fun and almost everyone participated and came back until everyone was black-barred. Getting my ass kicked by chubas and Nunas. Group rancor hunts with medics, pets, and camps. There weren't any super buffs, super armor, super weapons.
That time has long since passed so while most seem to mourn the loss of the CU or the Pre-CU days, I mourn the loss of the post launch era (bug ridden as it was, but hey bugs are the one constant since launch) and that has long since passed lol.
Do you ever remember the first time you took spice? I freaked out cause I was fighting somthing and was 45m away...then incaped I was all WTF?????.. Great times

Oh hell yeah I took some neutron pixie which made my health bar super duper long so I thought I was the bomb, then the downer hit and I was like WTF? Why is my health bar so low? That thing musta hit me hard...must be a super elite mob. **stays away from Nunas**.
I remember getting a small group together to take on Tortabulls on Talus and those care bear lookin guys too. I had really bad faction with them and was following my friend out somewhere and he crested a hill full of em no prob, then I came up the hill shortly after him and aggrod all of them and we both got killed lol.

When I first came ingame on Bria:
1. The hologrind was in full swing,
2. There were gangs roaming around /emote raping lone females,
3. Bria was so overpopulated that the whole server was lag-city (and the starter screen for choosing your server was still recommending Bria, which was still listed as "medium")
4. The newbie clothing was awful, and entertainers came ingame with red high heels. The women will know what I mean by that. The guys-in-girl-suits might not.
5. Grinding entertainer was a bore because maybe 2 others in a group of 20 would be atk. Finding an atk group leader, in a cantina with 3 or 4 groups going, could take up to two hours.
6. It took 47 minutes to grind ID up to Master.
7. Entertainer missions cost more to do than they paid.
8. And we watched some irritating PvPer challenge a harmless looking medic to a duel. The harmless looking medic reluctantly agreed, then whipped out a flame thrower and PWN'd.
That kept me in the game. But we changed servers.

Damn you Jabe for putting this video on and reminding me of the days i gladly forgot...now im remembering all the great times i had back at launch. Back when i was a master doctor, master combat medic with rifles 4. I couldnt solo nearly anything in the game, but when i was in a group, no one would EVER die. Back when People would actually walk into a cantina in.....Dearic and actually sit in the seats of the cantina to watch the dancers....Thats right, remember when there were dancers in Dearic?!?!?!? The good old days....Back when players could be seen in not only Mos Eisley, Cornet, Theed, and the MO, but in every other city/outpost in the game. Back when you could run for hours into the deep desert of Tatooine and not see a single house. Back when crafters were actually known for something, Vortex, Devinci (SP)....that other guy before them two. BACK WHEN CAMPS HAD A REASON TO EXIST.
Now, thanks to *JABE* im gonna get together with my friends and this is all we're gonna talk about.
BTW, I was the one that started that whole "siting on the floor in front of the dancers thing" back at launch. Im sure all you entertainers will be thanking me for that. :-P

Yeah, I sure loved those days.
You know...when we all wore nothing but 80% composite.
When there was no group content in the game at all. Hey, you have Pistols I in Marksman? Get a buff and go solo anciant krayts.
Ah, the fond memories of spamming head hit three...and nothing else...ever...
Sitting for hours to get a buff from a buff bot...
Running 40 missions with a solo group to master a profession...
Great times. BOO! Hiss! Down with the Pre-CU! Long live the CU!
Sure, I had some good times when I first picked up the game, who didn't? But when it came down to fun, CU beat Pre-CU, no contest (for me at least). Armor system was VASTLY improved, all professions improved, specials improved, everything improved.
(Stands back and prepares to be lynched)

I agree alot with you, The CU made the game more.."Shit what should I use next...what special?what weapon?" and less " Ok Geo pistol, Eyeshot, and Spice/buffs"
The biggest love I had for the CU, Armor choices no more Compo, no more buffs, and no more FULL GAME SOLO, I found ways to solo black sun in the cu as most did, but it was more fun to bring a friend or two.
