I'd take the middle ground, but I think I'll stick with my no. And sleep deprevation has made me forget the reasoning.

They've gotten into the habbit of being fully buffed and in the comp armor while doing the spitting. Where as I'm unbuffed in my uniform with the '1 shot K.O.' ham. What I'd give to be able to buttstroke them with my berserker rifle.

But, I'm still going to say no to the over all attackable at all times. There would have to be some form of punishment or retaliation. Otherwise, folks will just start a fight all the time being as there's no real consequence. That's why they need to beef up the storm troopers and their patrols. Start a riot next to a squad of nova troopers and see if you feel like starting riots in public again.

Would WE, an association of dedicated role players, become corrupted by the POW-errrr of the PvP Side?!?

I'm ready to try it...

We can always turn it off...

Walking down the PvP Side will not NOT forever dominate our destinies...

Keer hit the nail right on the head (as he often does).

Do we, as roleplayers, have so little faith in eachother that we don't think this is workable at all?

Back to the original question.. Does the concept appeal to you?

I am not asking you to factor in your current guild situation, or all the possible rules variations. These issues are things to be dealt with down the road.
Well then yes. If that's the case, I am interested and now that I think about it more, I would be willing to leave Mafia just for a little while.

This is going on in the german community for some time now, and it worked out quite well. When everybody is "adult" enough not to just kill every red dot he sees, it's a cool feature :)

Didn't Mafia break up a little while back?

Well as to the buff question I've just got to say I'm buffed almost 100% of the time. I hunt a lot in PvE and so I'm constantly buffed, I think most of the people that do any great amount of hunting would be as well.

I'm not opposed to no buffs just commenting that I'm sure there are many out there like me that are constantly buffed which could pose a problem.

Marata, can you shed some light on how the german community handles the issue of buffs in this system?

I love playing with the Germans. I am always impressed with their willingness to work together. They see the value in teamwork. You often have to work very hard to sell Americans (especially the young ones) on that idea. Must be a cultural thing.

Even in this thread you can see it.. LOL. The whole idea of everyone being on the same page and showing a little restraint has some people utterly confused. They say such a thing is impossible. I guess it is the whole individuality versus conformity thing.

Oh my.. I am way off topic now..

9 out of 10 times I'm gonna always be buffed. Makes sence when your in my line of work that you maintain a 100% readyness at all times. My advice to people who arnt buffed is...dont pick a fight with soeone who is buffed, or maybe have people around who can help you out.

Yeah.. I am starting to think there should be some sort of rules of honor. Example: If you are buffed, don't beat on someone who isn't, just because you can. Unless of course there is a very legitimate RP reason to do so.

Exactly what Novall said. I can refrain from killing unbuffed characters while buffed if they can contain themselves. I just don't want to be buffed and have a rule against buffed people killing unbuffed people because that leads to them giving me a hard time knowing I can't hurt them. So if we do a good screening process and get mature canidates to participate then I think we would be ok. Maybe 20 people to test would be a good start.

(crouches into the fetal position cluching his temples) Why, oh lord why, did the Dev give us buffs?!?

Look I understand that buffs help with the hunt and all and that for some of you walking around juiced up all the time is "fun," but personally I dont want to have to go pay 15k every 3 hours just in case I run into some one that wants to duel me. Now if you want to play it in rp I can see that. Your adicted to "juice" (aka buffs). You love the feel of stimulants running through your veins and the instant they ware off your lookin for the next fix. You my friend call your self a juicer (Any Rifts Player in the house hehe). Heck I could even see Jerrel, in his new mind set, becoming a juicer, but what about every one else can you reconsile the issue for your character? I'm sorry but every one's constand use of buffs have been a pet peve of mine for some time didn't mean to go off subject just needed to bring this up.
