Hi all. First post here, and let me say - the intrigue the Despot whipped up was the immersion I've been craving since day one. I'm a long time role player (and Star Wars nerd since the tender age of four) who came to SWG for the RPG in the mmorpg, but only after I rolled Dossk did I realize that for the most part Gorath was the 133735t server. Ah, well, c'est la vie. So I've been boppin' along, met some friends, hit the Roba here and there (With Danwe - My alt).. But not untill last night did I feel Dossk's niche.. Scum.. Villiany.. Aha! Home!

So much going on.. It's been quite some time since I've freeformed, so I hope I didn't get in anyone's way. If my presence went unnoticed, all the better However, if you wouldn't mind, I'd like to get into some of the reindeer games happening about - but only if it suits the character.

I hope I'm not overstepping my boundaries, being the newbliest of the newbs on this forum, but I've got something to say here... The people that I interacted with last night (Zokan, Novall, Ceka, Dewbacca, and Sepiv to name a few) seemed pretty damned right for character. Cocky, arrogant, agressive villians and overprotective, noble, yet battle hardeded "heroes." Just the type of people I'd expect in a backwater "space bar." Dossk also had his eye on Krida. She seemed particularly scummy.. Considering her shadow-slinking and intent on not appearing suspicious. ;)

If you want to get involved.. OOC you can start a thread here and let us know about your character. There is a good chance someone might see a good "hook" and suck you in. IC, show up to the RP events and interact with people.

I don't get much play time here, so I don't hear much from him either. Best I get is weekend game time when i can finally check my in game mail. So, in otherwords, your guess is as good as mine.

Great story Dossk!!! I love how you integrated the Trandosian culture. I love it when players add their racial attitudes and philosophies to their roleplay. I try to do the same thing, acting bewildered by strange human customs, etc.

I enjoyed how the "animal" was trying to come out, yet the intellect kept it in check. That concept has always fascinated me. The whole hunter mentality was very captivating.

When you first mentioned "slave race", I thought you were talking about twi'leks. Is there some commonly known history between Trandosians and Wookiee's that I should be aware of? It sounds like there is based on your story.

Perhaps you and I will have a discussion about the Goddess some day. The true Goddess, of course. :P :P :P This will be fun because both Ekade and myself know very little about trandosian culture. We'll both learn.

Now we just need a reason for our characters to interact. Ekade knows all the characters you bumped into in your story, so I am sure something will come up over time.

If I am correct, Wookies are known as the slave race because the empire has enslaved virtually the whole race. Kashyyyk and the Trandoshan homeworld are in the same system I believe and the Trandos have been hunting them for sport for centuries.

Oh, Trandos also have this nasty habit of eating their parents/children. Take Bossk for instance...he killed his father Cradoosk and ate him for dinner to take over the Bounty Hunter's Guild.

Trando's also like to skin their prey. Bossk actually has a automated skinning table in his ship the Hound's Tooth.

Wookies are arborial (Live in trees) and have great cities built in Trees. Chewy is married...although his wife's name slips my mind right now. He's also about 125 yrs old...which puts him in his late 30's compared to human aging.

With the possible exception of the Rodians, no other species is better culturally suited to the profession of bounty hunting than the Trandoshans of the Kashyyyk system.
These reptilian humanoids not only have strong builds and regenerative abilities that can regrow lost limbs, but their religious beliefs revolve around a god known as the Scorekeeper, who rewards successful hunts in the afterlife.

Bearing the brunt of this bloodlust are the neighboring Wookiees. Trandoshans have long hunted the proud arboreal species, gathering brute labor for slavers or harvesting Wookiee pelts. When the Empire rescinded anti-slavery laws enacted by the Old Republic, the Wookiee situation became all the more dire. While several of the other bounty hunter who answered Vader's call to find the Millennium Falcon did so with aspirations to hunt down Han Solo, Bossk did it to capture Chewbacca.


Story of Han and Chewy:

For their brutish strength and technological savvy, Wookiees were enslaved by the Empire for use as labor. For a time, Chewbacca was a slave, toiling away for the betterment of the Empire until an impudent Imperial cadet named Han Solo freed him.
Drummed out of the military, Solo had few options but to return to the fringe lifestyle he knew so well. Chewbacca swore loyalty to Han, and became his partner in crime. Early on in their smuggling career, Chewbacca stunned Han Solo by visiting Kashyyyk and marrying a female Wookiee named Mallatobuck. Solo never pegged Chewie as a family man, but Wookiee customs allowed Chewbacca to continue his flying with Han -- protecting him as the Wookiee life debt demanded -- while still being a husband and, eventually, father. Chewbacca's son, Lumpawarrump, was raised mainly by Malla and Chewie's father, Attichitcuk.

Chewy also dies fighting against the Yuzzhan Vong in the novles.
