Why France can "suck it"

One of the rules I was subject to when going on a function outside of the US was to not wear any American symbols, yes i know that most other countires openly hate us, but my point it that by turning around and doing the same thing they do makes you no better, therefore i try to keep an open mind.

A). If someone told me I couldn't have an American symbol on me when I travelled abroad, I'd go out of my way to find American Olympic jackets and wear them wherever I went. They know you're an American anyway, regardless if you're wearing a flag symbol or not. You might as well be a patriot about it.

B). You have to understand that while I hate the French, it's more of a pity/laugh at them kind of thing. I consider them to be beneath me. So I'm not stooping to their level. I couldn't possibly reach that low.

Now, if you'll please excuse me, I have to go find an American flag and salute it while humming the Star Spangled Banner.

If you're French and don't hate Americans then we're not talking about you. We're talking about the general mentality of an entire nation. Also you're probably Canadian.

I'm not sure what you mean by your second sentence though. The Canadian part was a little bit of humor since they generally don't hate us. Again, I speak of a general mentality not just a few individuals.

Actually your second statement about Canadians would be incorrect. The only real French Canadians all live in Quebec and they pretty much all hate us too. I lived about 60 minutes south of Quebec for about 20 years so trust me on that one.

Now I can't speak for the rest of Canada though. Montreal is especially a hive of anti-american French Canadians. 2 years ago when we had hockey the fans in the Molsen Center (Home to the Canadians for those that aren't familiar) the entire crowd booed during our national anthem.

WW2? without American planes and resources, Russia would have been goosestepping too. And that's before D-Day. Without American and Brittish troops spilling their guts all over Africa, Germany would have had the resources to BURN the Russian winter away. Who saved the other side of the world, and the Chinese from Japanese rule? AMERICA.

It's awful how we try and free people from tyranny and oppression. The folks in Iraq right now are begging to be put feet first into the meat-grinders again, I just know it.

You can hear them in the streets, "In my day, we didn't used to have all of these problems, we had door to door government troops who'd drag your family members out in the middle of the night, and mass graves with hundreds of thousands of Iraqi dissenters in them! Those were the days!"

I don't know that there aren't any Iraqi's fighting the troops but I do know that 99% of the insurgents are not native born Iraqi's. You can tell just by who has been captured and killed by US forces. Its not Iraqi's. Its the militant islam countries surrounding Iraq. See the problem is that the Iraqi people never fully fell lockstep with fundamentalist Islam. The women there have always had more rights than the countries around them. Hell one of Saddam's generals and one of the elite 52 on the playing cards was a female.

Oil. No we didn't invade to get oil from the nation of Iraq, at least not yet No it wasn't to lower our gas prices. The intent is to make an ally out of a former enemy. One that hopefully gets back on their feet and is able to freely trade their greatest asset. This would be a great thing for Iraq. And rich allies are good to have, especially when we can influence some control over OPEC.

It has to get better at some point. I'm an optimist. But don't argue that our only reason to go into Iraq was to free the Iraqi people. There were many factors and I maintain that it was not worth the cost in $$, the US's world standing, and especially lives.

And hey, no baggin on my car. I bought it cuz it costs us $2000 less a year in gas to run than our stratus (yes we drive THAT much) and it's near zero emissions. Your civic is good too. But you can't beat the fact that the prius has midsize car interior space and averages 50mpg. (You should look into one with your commute dude. )

k we'll see this pay huge dividends, even in lives, so to speak, in 20 years. Our policies have never really been very forward reaching (hey, we won the cold war! Oops, now everyone wants Russia's nuclear arsenal...uh, maybe we shouldn't have done an arms race?). This new ideology, instead of out-spending, we implant freedom. That's more long term, I think. Should work. I hope.

I absolutly hate the french government and to idiots that voted it into power. They are back stabbing cowards. If you want to know the lenghts they go to just to shaft us and the hate comming from the rest of the world read John Gibsons Hating America: The New World Sport. It chonicels several things these yahoos have done in the pursute of screwing us over like Chirac having meeting with Sadam telling him that the French will keep us Americans at bay as long as the French get first crack at his oil reserves when they get the sations lifted.

When you look at it the real reason the world hates us is cause they are paranoid about us. Think about when in the history of the world has a nation have so much power and it not invade the rest of the world? The world is scared shitless because we haven't so they look at every thing that we do as some super secret agenda at taking over when all it is is the freedoms we have via our democracy and capitalism bleeding over into their nations. The French hate this cause they thing they are supirior to all other cultures and it hits a raw nerve when they see American culture infuencing the world. Those who hate seeing our culture dominate think that this is our plan and call us an Empire cause they have a McDonadls down the street.

As an after thought the internet has help the spread of our culture greatly even more so the telivision and movies.

On and to those who think we went into Iraq for oil...We did. We buy the oil from the Iraqi people and they can now use the money for medicens and schools instead of building a murderous dictator another gold plated palace, horrors. "The Americans are buying Iraqi oil and now the people can have medicen and schools! How dare those American pigs!" Please note the sarcasm.
