He's right, it's an RP thing. For instance, I play a high ranking Imperial, and as we all know, Imperials look at nonhumans as lesser. So, why would I spend time learning a lesser language?

I surrendered the languages a long time ago, and I actually like not knowing what some people are saying. It helps my RP out quite a bit.

I could see some Imperials knowing a few languages, especially security forces. Imagine them like the Border Patrol. Now I'm not saying those guys are like the evil Imperial Army but they do have to know the launguage to deal with those people.

Imagine your an ST squad and you're sent to find a couple of droids (yeah, like that ever happens). You would need someone to speak to those patrons in the cantina in their languages to get information.

Stormtrooper: "Hey, how do you 'I'm going to blast your face off' in Dosh?"

Just a thought.

Yes, I am trying to decide if Ekade should surrender any languages. Being who she is, it is very likely that she does know all the languages.

Which is why It's imperative that I know em all. How many languages can you say "So whats it gonna be...punk?" ?

You can set your default language in your character settings (same place you decide what profession title to display) under ctrl+p.

"/language ryl" works too.

I thought it was supposed to, but to be honest I just discovered this for myself last night. I am having major problems changing the title on my character to none. I don't want a title to display but when I relog, Novice Brawler keeps coming back.. So the language setting may reset also.

I'm going to start using "lekku speak" more often just to tick off non-twil'eks (because they can never learn that language). :D

Yeah I hate that crap, it always displays a system message saying "<name> speaks in a body language that you can not understand". You keep doing that and I'll just /addignore ya. :)
