The star shaped screws are torx bits. If you go to Sears, you can buy Craftsman torx screw drivers for like a dollar a peice. The bits in electronics are usually anywhere from T8-T11 size bits. Getting a couple of these are very handy if you intend on working on this stuff more than once, cause you can easily strip those screws.

Yeah or if you ever plan on seeing what the insides of a Compaq look like. Most annoying setup ever imo. I have to do what seemed like 39 minutes of skeletal surgery just to get a CD ROM outta one lol....
