100% with ya Isleh.

To me; it's Balance again. If you put only 'one' Alpha class into a game; your asking for trouble. This seems to be the case with Jedi vs BH. In any case it feels very much like one or the other 'knows' their going to win the fight before it's even begun.

Balance is the only thing I'd like to see.

Adding more elite professions to 'balance' out the Jedi equation does 'not' sound like a bad idea.

The simple fact is on all of this is, BH's do not only go after Jedi, only reason this whole debate is going on is the games content. I wanna see any profession on the terms, but i also wanna see a clickbox for all players that ALLOWS them to be on terms ( kinda like D2's pvp box ). Til i can hunt something other then a Jedi i won't truely be happy, frankly hunting is rather boring atm. If you dun go after the pvp jedi then your asking for an endless supply of cantina whores and Kash grinders ( which is fine they should have places to be safe but sheesh ) even if you get a non cantina / Kash jedi your called something rude simply cause your doing something your char has the abilty to do. My simple thought is, dun like pvp, don't go jedi, cry over dying and losing xp WAH!! It's a game, people need to learn to treat it as such ...... i won't 2nd think killing anybody ingame, in fact i relish it :P

I am in agreement on this one. It would certainly add to the role play dynamic.
My simple thought is, dun like pvp, don't go jedi, cry over dying and losing xp WAH!! It's a game, people need to learn to treat it as such ...... i won't 2nd think killing anybody ingame, in fact i relish it :P
Here is where we disagree. Simply saying "if you don't like PVP don't go Jedi" is not the answer. Many new players are drawn to SWG with promises of becoming the ultimate character class: the Jedi. However just like the half-truths in the SWG commerical propaganda, the Jedi class is never truly explained that there could possibly be "PVP". I'm not against player versus player action by any means(although I personally don't enjoy it). I believe player vs player is necessary to reflect the brutatlity of the Galactic Civil War. There is so much "nerf crying" by both sides of the fence that the debate has become unmanageable. Just like arguing about politics or other social issues, there are too many considerations.

And so...this brings me to my proposal. As the SWG boards are a flame fest, I will not bring this up on the boards unless our community feels this might be a good idea. If any mod's want to split this out, feel free to(I'm not sure if this should have it's own thread) It's just that an idea, take it as you will.

Why not create a second Jedi class specifically for PVE? If you have worked hard on your character to reach Jedi, you should be rewarded. Here is the implimentation. Create a PVE Jedi class! This class would not show up on bounty hunter terminals unless the Jedi himself turns on the PVP functionality(similiar to the /pvp command in WOW). Here's my ideas:

1. Random PVE bounty hunter spawns would periodically attack the Jedi and draw aggro while out in the open. This would be similiar to the Sith Pirates spawing when you become force sensitive. The downside to this PVE style play is that upon death in PVE you will take XP loss.

2. Lightsaber use will not be permitted in any SOE generated city ie Theed, Coronet. This will allow for greater immersion as there will not be Jedi running around all over the place dueling. A jedi may duel or PVP in the major cities but without using powers or lightsabers. Notice I said "SOE generated". Lightsabe use and powers might be allowed in player cities but if this becomes out of hand, use might be prohibited there as well.

3. PVE Jedi will have a ranking system based on PVP with other jedi in the enclaves. For dark jedi, this will occur as normal. Light jedi I'd be open to some ideas as I wouldn't know how to impliment this(light jedi should not be infighting)

I guess I'd really have to see this one. I think it would fit in nicely if SOE does change the FRS to a Light VS Dark faction. They could also have that work like the GCW with Combatant vs Special Forces.

The only thing that bothers me is that AI can never truely beat humans. Unless they're just overwhelmingly more powerful (typically) or out numbered. So I think finding a balance on these PvE AI bounty hunters would be difficult. I'd rather just have Vader show up and ramdomly kill any type of Jedi if they've been goofing around with their powers.

I definately agree with the lightsaber ban in cities though. I am all for that, and Saber TEF in general. If you light up you should get smacked down.
