I saw a total scuttling and do-over of the game coming at some point, but I didn't think that it would be this soon. Years, I thought. But still even now...a secret development underneath all the stuff they've been tossing out in the last year plus? Okay. It's business. It's like that. Even in show business, which these types of games are, 'business' is always bigger than the 'show'. I get it.

But as a fan...a fan of the game we still haven't seen yet, once again I see why Obi-Wan Kenobi is my favorite character. Waiting in the desert for decades until Luke grew up. It's like waiting for SWG to "get there". Or get close. One day maybe it'll find me and I'll have an adventure with it? Until then...looks like it's more chillin' in the sand hut eatin' crackers and making handmade sandals.

No one knows what this new latest drastic change will bring for sure. But what is sure is that Sony has made certain SWG owns the record for "Most Schizophrenic Game Ever". It feels like one of those dotcom startups from the 1990's. "If you don't like our function now, cool. It'll change again next year."

SOE is going to do whatever it has to do to its existing customer base to generate more potential money. They don't care who the customers are, just that there's mroe of them. Passionate posting? Recommendations from dedicated fans? Its meaningless.

Its a let down to everyone who thought there was a commitment to those who helped make it great. Profession forums with correspondents? Appeasement. Half those guys are SOL in two weeks anyway as there will only be 9 professions to deal with LOL. Bye bye community.

I am not surprised and I don't care. After the CU I realized I can work my ass off on my toon and they can just take it away in a day.

They said it themselves, it will be easier to maintain with only 9 professions. But will it be better? And they are right. It should be the biggest game out there with the name itself's fanbase. But they have alienated the community. I don't see this move changing it. Personally, I am tired of paying money to people so they can make their dream video game.

This may just be me... but... This game has been boring me to tears for so long... I can only pray and hope that the excitement they are promising is a reality.

If it becomes a FPS... I might be really displeased... But I might also like it, depending how it is set up. I mean... a FPS with a level system? In a star wars universe? That's not terrible.

Some huge anger comes from... Everyone being able to be a jedi? GREAT! As if we didn't have a large enough problem with this.

6 stats? What happened to the focus groups that said keeping track of 3 was way to hard?. I will bet money that those 6 stats are determined by the class you choose and are non adjustable.

Well, I'll say this much about that I can at least agree with on the changes 'if' their telling the truth. No Alpha class profession in combat. Everyone has equal footing. Did they really accomplish this this time? If so, it might not be that bad. Killing the diversity of 30 plus professions down to 9; That was just bad protocol to the players that liked being a Fencer, a TK, a Creature Handler, etc, etc. It's like... what was the point of our Correspondants then?

With 15 days till the changes they should have a LOT more answers for us readily available if they have been working on this for SO long. That's just another one of my irritated feelings about it. Relatively speaking they keep changing the rules of the CORE game like some of us change shirts in a comparitive way. The recap is we get a NEW game every year! We should already be at the stage where we're only seeing minor bugs and more concentration on adding content.... not overhauling!

Now, I always did say... as long as they keep Jedi in the game; Eventually it'll be a starting class unless they add a second alpha class profession. In this case... I don't like being right because of how this is being implemented. I mean... we've been talking about Communication here for the past some odd days... Only to have SOE make everyone here go... DAMN... SOE was waiting at the starport for us to load in! GANK!

Ok... the sky is falling stuff out of the way... I think we all need to stay and at least see what it looks like... even if, like me, your upset about it. Then make the final decission.

Figures this comes out on the day I'm traveling for work so now I'm trying to catch up on everything.

I probably could have lived with a system that still functioned the same in combat but changing this to a FPS (despite what the guy said) I can just go play Rebel Commando or something, why pay $15.00 a month for that?

i went to test center today to check things out the test center starts its new vertion of the game on friday nov 4 and from the input i got on there no one is really that happy about it either there is alot of people on the test center saying that if it goes fps they are cancelling there accounts and i think i am in the same boat i suck at fps thats why my 190 yr old can kick my butt in most x box game if i wanted a fps i would have bought one
