I play this game for the people.

Combat being fun is a huge plus, and I know having fun in combat is the core of the game for most people.


My plan:

Try it out. See who sticks around.. make new friends if needed. If I am still having fun, I am staying.


Toront does have a good point about their business practices. They announced this right after putting out an expansion.. that's just shady. Other MMO companies do treat their customers better, and that is a factor for me.

SOE will screw you repeatedly. That is simply fact at this point.

I'm on the same page as Ekade, if it was just about the game I would have left long ago, I have too many friends and time vested, and the whole Star Wars geek thing will keep me around.

I will adapt to the CU2 and 3...and 4...

SOE sucks, but I am not about to believe the grass is greener next door.

Well, when I don't get ticked off at someone for whatever silly reason (usually takes something like this for me to look back and go, "What the heck was I thinking anyway!?!) I generally stick around for the community. That being all of you as a whole who breathed new life into the game when I was ready to quit Pre-CU.

My gamming buddies are all here really. And, being that I am a total Star Wars geek... I've got to try it out... if not because of the addiction to all things Star Wars; because I owe it to my friends to try it out with them.... even if I think this move was a bad one on SOE's part.

I am not that worried. Once you hit rock bottom you can only go up. Rock bottom is exactly where I am at with this game right now. Unlike the first CU, I am strangley not panicked about this one.

Will I stay? I don't know.

All I can say right now is I resent SOE for their business practices. I been looking for a reson to go away. But the company of friends is too difficult to walk away from as well.

For all my frustration and need to do my RL punch macro on Julio, I will test this out. In the end of it all, there are still some aspects of this game that I like still here, mainly the Star Wars and the community. If my friends from TTF and Tales decide to stick around, it might be enough for me to come around.

I am just so angry I need to vent, and going to the official forums to have 40 people tell me "it'll be more fun, give it a chance" without understanding my points is annoying. I gave the CU a chance because it wasn't just a change, it was a fix. It took the established game and attempted to fix all the broken aspects of it. This is a change, not a fix. A change to the style, to the fundamental difference of this game from other MMOs. I am still going to give it a chance, but I am justified in complaining on this one. It is nothing like the first CU

Aside from the most obvious changes that have been discussed and fretted over thus far, I also can't help but wonder what this will mean to the crafters. I mean they say they are basically leaving them as is because SOE is happy with the system, but then they remove item decay...so where's the repeat business? Where's the incentive to keep making items and have shops?

Ya thats my biggest worry, I like how the SWG ecomomy works now, although somethings are over priced I think its one of the better points of the game when compared to other MMOs, I just hope that doesn't get removed.

And I wonder how this combat will work, I mean will a Dancer be able to pick up a T21 and use it for full damage just not have specials? Be interesting to see this on TC tomorrow.

I whole heartedly agree on that one. I think a bunch of us are on the same page on this one. This was a bad call on SOE's part. But, we'll be going through these changes as a whole together regardless.

I tend to tune those people out that say "It'll be more fun, give it a chance" because the fact of the matter is; They don't know if it will or not. And that's what leaves that queezy feeling in my tummy. I don't like FPSs to be honest, and this sounds more and more like one. It could suck completely; It might not. We honestly do not know yet. All we know is what we've been though, how SOE treats community relations, and that this is happening to ALL of us.

I for one hope to see everyone here around long enough to at least check it out on Live or at least Test Center for some feedback in the next couple of days.
