Tech support is stupid

yeah I know, big revelation, but here's my story...
right in the middle of SWG last night, I lose connection, so I exit the game. I figure what the hell, I'll check the forums whie it starts back up, and the internet is down too. Ok, so I reboot the comp and still doesn't fix it. So I unplug it all and reset the modem and router, that doesn't fix it. SO now I call verizon to report it broke and get it fixed.
So after going through a slew of automated menus, and 2 transfers I end up at the original place I called at the first place, and somehow this time get connected to a real person. I'm thinking, geez it's 11:30 pm, I'm going to get connected to someone in India, but NO it's some regular guy here in the states...small miracles.
So I explain what happened, and the very nice guy starts going through his 3 ring binder he's reading from to troubleshoot my problem. I keep trying to tell him that it's on your end because everything has been working fine on my end...."but everything reads normal here on our end sir, and there's no reports of problems in your area"
"well it IS midnight"
but he won't take no for an answer, so for an hour we delve deep into windows, and routers setting, uninstalling NIC's...on and on and on...he finally says very nicely, "well sir I cannot solve you're problem, so I'm sending you to our manager who can take care of your problem further"
I say yes but think, hey buddy if you woulda listened to me in the first place...
so I go talk to the manager, who begins to go over the problem again, so I quickly tell her everything we did the past hour to get her up to speed. SO she starts to go through some of the same shit again, so I keep telling her, we did this, we did this, we did that...so finally she says "okay we'll put in a blah blah blah maintenance request so they can get to it first thing in the morning" so she gets my tele # and says they will be getting a hold of you in the next 24-48 hours"
Wh-what?? 24-48 hrs? your service is GUARANTEED to work...where do I got for recompensation for lost signal
oh you have to talk to some weird named department..riiight, it took me forever to get to you and now I got to find some weird dept....suuuure
but needless to say after a 1 hr call and 2 hr wait, it is back working again...
so much for it being messed up on my end
