For those of you that were around when Jedi first came about, you should have some idea of what I'm referring to. I can't remember when it was introduced (it wasn't there for the very first Jedi) but essentially when a Jedi used their powers/lightsaber in public, they turned red to everyone in the vicinity (32m).

This was pulled as the Jedi complained (do they do anything else?) that it was used to grief (especially with xp loss on every death). I argue that with xp loss on every death gone, it is time to bring back the Saber TEF.

Since it is a one-way TEF, it gives non-Jedi the power to show Jedi when they are not wanted. Imagine going to Theed with a group of Jedi haters (I for some reason picture Novall and a squad of MERCS ) and just calling out targets one at a time:

"Toront!" WHAM! 8-10 shots out of nowhere on me all at once. Down I go.

Just rinse and repeat until the Jedi learn that Theed is no longer the place to be brash.

I think this TEF would probably work best if it still followed factional lines for giving out the TEFs (I'd hate to see some Jedi I'm fighting alongside suddenly become target-able). However, it would instantly give Jedi a real reason to hide.

Bounty hunters and visibility were meant to keep Jedi in hiding, but their influence is not instant (looking for mission on terminal, possibly getting more than one BH to get it, going back to Theed or wherever they are). Visibility TEF causes Jedi to really be careful about revealing themselves in public or even getting caught by a BH in a public space.

As a Jedi, I want a reason to hide, other than just RP cannon stuff. Right now there is no risk vs. the reward of keeping my saber equipped/fighting in public.

Any thoughts?

As an aspring Jedi to be I completely agree, and I don't have a problem getting my butt kicked for doing it that's for sure. At least I'll know what I'm going to get if I light up in town.

As a BH this would be really fun cause I cannt see a jedi running around a go "Gee I wonder if he has a bounty?" "Well what do u know he does," and then go to where I just saw him a fight him. I like to hunt, and it would be more challenging if they actuall had to hide in a city.

I concur, that was one of the best ideas the Dev's had in regards to Jedi and it really needs to be brought back.

And I also agree with Jerrel. It's rarely fun to hunt Jedi because they just stand around in the middle of town basically waiting for it. I mean, what's the fun of being a bounty hunter if you emphasize the "bounty" but forget the "hunter"?

I take bounties on NPCs more than Jedi because it's just more fun to have to track them down.

I urge all BHs, especially those that are well versed in the tactics of the CU, to hunt Jedi on the day of publish 19. I assure you all that most will not be ready for the 'balancing' that the class is recieving.

I assume you mean that in a generic sense, like:

"Jedi's Name Here" WHAM! etc., right?

How is it gone? A friend of mine got shot dead by a BH in Noct on Monday night and lsot 136k of Jedi xp. Are you sure its gone?

Jedi visibility and penalties are so confusing to me.

Gone on deaths outside of BH kills. Being killed by a BH is the only time you loose Jedi xp now.

I would support it... but you know, propose that on the SOE forums and watch the flames.

I actually mentioned something like this on the Jedi forums and there were a good number of positive responces to the idea. There are at least a few Jedi that have some appreciation for how we are "supposed" to be during this time period (conceding, of course, the fact that we exist at all).

Then again, I think grade school was still in session at the time I posted
